Setting the mood is important. Especially in those early stages where one or two moves can make or break everything. How you set said mood depends on a number personal factors, but at one point in time, it almost always involved music. I used to make special mixed tapes for moments just like these, and there was no Al Green, Jodeci, or Kenny G in my lineup. But I had some classic songs that fit the moment, too.

Nowadays some Pink Floyd or even the Weather Channel will do. But if I had to recommend some mood setting songs from me to you, here’s what I’d pick:
On the Freeway – Bizzy Bone
All In Together – Bizzy Bone
Funky Ride – Outkast
Slow Ride – Sublime
I’ve Been Watching You (Move That Sexy Body) – Too $hort
Black Orchid – Esham
Trick Wit Me – Esham
Anytime, Any Place – Janet Jackson
International Lover – Prince
Insatiable – Prince
Who Makes You Feel – Dido
Moments In Love – Art of Noise
Since I’ve Been Loving You – Led Zepplin
1983 (A Merman I Should Turn to Be) – Jimi Hendrix
May This Be Love – Jimi Hendrix
Crystal Ship – The Doors
I’d Rather Fuck You – N.W.A
I Wanna Fuck You – Akon
Fuck You Tonight – Notorious B.I.G.
