Recently caught up with L.P. Henson to talk books and his journey as an author.
What inspired you to pursue the path of an author?
As a youth, I did so much damage to my self-worth that I was in and out of
jail and prison which led me to have some real-life experiences on the
other side of the fence. I was encouraged by the people I shared my
real-life experiences with to become an author since I have great stories to
tell. After hearing it over and over I was inspired to seek the journey of
becoming an author.
Can you tell us more about what looks like your debut novel, No
Attachment No Entanglement?
No Attachment No Entanglement is my debut erotica, but my debut book is
African Connection: Kings of The White Collar Hustle. My debut erotica, No
Attachment No Entanglement is a prelude to two erotica books titled,
Friends with Benefits I & Friends with benefits 2 that will come out later
No Attachment No Entanglement is all about Kim and to see why Kim is the way she in the upcoming erotica Friends with Benefits 1 you have to take a journey to her humble beginning which is. After her lover hires her to seduce and sleep with his wife for divorce reasons, Kim tells her older sister Maya about the indecent proposal. Maya gives her sister the only advice she knows and that advice not only will change the lives of the two sisters for the worse, but it will also change the lives of anyone they encounter within Florence, South Carolina, and Baltimore, MD. Their experiences will mold them while their situations will define them.
What are some of the themes you explore in the erotica elements of your writing?
One of the themes I like to explore in the erotica elements is exploring sexual experiences that African-American engage in that sometimes is considered a taboo in that African-American culture.
What has been your biggest challenge on the road to publishing and
marketing your book?
I will say the biggest challenge on the road to publishing and marketing my
book is self-publishing and marketing my books all in-house.
In your experience, what has been the most effective form of promoting your work and brand as an author?
The most effective form of promoting my work and brand as an author is
through social media.
Are you currently working on any upcoming projects we should know
