For many of us, our first encounter with the kinkier side of sex came within the pages of a book. Definitely where I discovered that head in the toilet thing I recently started seeing online. Any way, some of my favorite books to read fall in the erotica category. So I’m very happy to share this interview with the talented and multi-faceted author Veronica Anderson-Stamps.

I see you have quite a few books. How long have you been writing and when did you publish your first book?

I have been writing since I was eighteen years old, but my first book was published in 2012.

Erotica continues to be both popular and controversial. What inspired you to write books in this genre?

I started writing erotica because I wanted to present it in such a way that went beyond meaningless sex but to also show that there were pure emotions involved as well. When people read my erotica tales, I want them not only to be affected on a physical level but also emotionally.

What are some themes you touch on in your erotica?

I touch on many themes but mainly male/female, female/female, male/male as well as transgender romance that goes beyond stereotypes. I love to set up the relationships in a way that anyone reading would understand that they would feel the same way the characters feel if they were put in the same exact situation. This opens the reader’s eyes and mind to possibilities and helps them to be less judgmental of others in their daily lives.

Can you give us an overview of your most recent erotica title?

My latest erotic title, Ultimate Erica: 15 Story Collection, consists of fifteen stories of wild erotica adventures by characters that really lay it down hard and heavy. Within this collection is something for everyone 18 years old and older.

Of all your erotica titles, do you have a favorite? If so, what makes that book so special to you?

My favorite erotic title would have to be The Manservant. It’s a short story that has a lot of elements. I think that its so special to be because I believe in instant attraction and that once we come across our soulmates, we know in our hearts that we are supposed to be with that person. The Manservant is an erotic tale that I know will touch anyone with a beating heart. It’s not all about sex. There’s more to the story!

What are some of the biggest challenges you’ve encountered in promoting your erotica?

The main challenge that I face when promoting erotica is the stigma that people have about the subject. There is always judgement. Once someone asked me why I would even choose to write about something so taboo. What is so taboo about exploring your sexual nature, giving in and sharing your body with someone that you care about? Its something that we do already. It’s no big secret that people have sex. People shouldn’t be afraid to watch it on television or read about it in a book.

What other genres do you specialize in?

Other genres that I specialize in are horror, science fiction, romance, and children’s books.
